A Family Company's Mission to
Provide Fresh, Healthy Food for All.

Early 1900s •‍ Planting Roots

Our story began when Sam DiNovo immigrated from Italy and started selling produce from a cart in central Ohio. His work planted the seeds for a family connection to the produce industry that would carry on for generations.

2017 •‍ The Next Generation Leads

In 2017, Alex DiNovo took the helm, bringing the family’s fifth generation into company leadership. With a respect for DNO’s roots and a vision for its future, Alex continued to guide the company’s growth and commitment to the communities it serves.

1989 •‍ Creation of DNO Produce

Tony DiNovo, a fourth-generation member of the family’s produce legacy, founded DNO & FRESHEALTH in 1989. Building on the generations before him, Tony began a new chapter in serving fresh produce to central Ohio and beyond.

2022 •‍ Making Room to Grow

DNO expanded its facility in 2022, adding another set of docks and a 12,000-square-foot addition to our processing center. The expansion created more room to prepare fresh produce and support the growing needs of our customers.

2023 •‍ Introducing SnackTime Explorers

In 2023, DNO partnered with Pilot Light to create SnackTime Explorers, connecting fresh produce tastings with engaging classroom lessons. Through the program, students explore where food comes from, discover new fruits and vegetables, and build connections between their snacks and the world around them.

Still growing. Still rooted in our purpose.

We make healthy easy for our partners by providing ongoing produce expertise, impeccable product quality, proactive problem-solving and support, customer collaboration, and a spirit of enthusiasm with every interaction.
