Meet Alexis: Our October Brocc Star!
We’re giving a big round of applause to Alexis, our Produce Quality Specialist! This is a very important role that directly impacts the satisfaction of our customers, so Alexis is trusted with many responsibilities, including ensuring that our fresh fruits and vegetables meet company, customer, and food safety standards from the moment they arrive at our facility to the moment they leave.
However, inspecting incoming and outgoing produce for size, color, ripeness, and absence of defects is just a portion of her role. Alexis ensures all coolers and storage areas maintain proper temperature and humidity, monitors packaging integrity and labeling accuracy, and checks rotation practices. She also enforces food safety and quality standards, which requires knowledge of several produce handling regulations and best practices. She monitors several important documents and reporting, including quality logs, rejection documents, and more, including tracking vendor performance over time to guide sourcing and supplier decisions.
Most recently, Alexis has helped extensively with information and data uploads for customer-facing documents and labels. She has undoubtedly driven important initiatives forward with her attention to detail on large-scale projects and ability to take initiative when something needs done.
Training and collaboration are important aspects to a Produce Quality Specialist. Alexis works closely with procurement, production, and sales to resolve quality issues, adjust specs, or communicate produce availability. Her peers applaud Alexis for her attention to detail and her dedication to keeping our products safe.
